NWT Map

We take up 1.17 million square kilometers and when you combine us with our neighbour Nunavut, we take up a whole third of Canada's landmass. The new NWT has a population of 41,464 (NWT Bureau of Statistics' 2006 census). Over half of the population is located throughout 33 communities, with the remainder located in the only city of Yellowknife, our capital. We have a consensus government that sits in our beautiful Legislative Assembly building in Yellowknife.
