YELLOWKNIFE (November 18, 2021) – Today, the Honourable Mr. Justice Ronald L. Barclay, Q.C., the Sole Adjudicator appointed in the code of conduct complaint against the MLA for Tu Nedhé-Wiilideh, provided the disposition report to the Speaker of the Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly, the Honourable Frederick Blake Jr.
The inquiry into the code of conduct complaint against the MLA for Tu Nedhé-Wiilideh, Mr. Steve Norn, was conducted pursuant to s. 106(1) of the Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Act.
Per s. 106(3), the Clerk shall make copies of the disposition report available to the public at the office of the Clerk. As the building is currently closed to the public, the report is also accessible online here. Persons requiring a hard copy of the report are asked to contact the Legislative Librarian by email at @email or by phone at (867) 767-9132 ext. 12056.
The Speaker must table the report in the Legislative Assembly at the earliest opportunity. The Legislative Assembly shall consider a disposition report submitted by a Sole Adjudicator within 15 sitting days after the report is laid before the Legislative Assembly.
