Mr. Speaker, among the people in the gallery today are representatives of a number of the business and social organizations in the communities of the Northwest Territories. I’d like to recognize Jennifer Marchant of the Northern Frontier Visitors Association, and Ms. Cecily Hewitt, who is the executive director of the NWT Council of Persons with Disabilities. Also in the gallery today, Mr. Speaker, are Bea Daniels -- I believe she is still the president of the NWT Seniors’ Society -- and Ms. Barb Hood. Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

AND WHEREAS Members of the Executive Council are appointed by the Commissioner on the recommendation of the Legislative Assembly;

Mahsi, Mr. Speaker. I, too, would like to add my congratulations and express my faith and trust in you and our Premier-elect and the Members of the Cabinet-elect, whom we will be affirming later on in this 15th Assembly.

I am honoured to have the privilege to serve for a second term as the Member for the riding of Great Slave. Mr. Speaker, I’m here to help build on the foundations of our young territory.
