Statements in Debates
Thank you. As I mentioned before, I really disagree with the process, but I do realize at the end of our term we’ll be setting priorities for the next 18th government. So I just wanted to state that. I’m hoping that within the next year here, in the fall, we have the new school on our agenda for the community of Aklavik. As I mentioned, it’s getting close to 40 years old and I believe it’s well above the 28-year assessment needs.
I do realize in history with this government the Mackenzie Delta is getting not very much in terms of projects. I know there’s a bunch of renovations planned. I’d like...
Mr. Speaker, I seek unanimous consent to deal with the motion I gave notice of earlier today.
---Unanimous consent granted
I look forward to working with the Minister of Health within the next couple of years here to find a solution to the problem.
Thank you, Mr. Speaker. My question today is for the Minister of Health. In the 16th Assembly the Joe Greenland Centre was shut down, the long-term care facility that was in the Mackenzie Delta riding. I’d just like to know what the plans are that the department has in this next four years for the people of the Mackenzie Delta.
Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker. My question for Cabinet and our Premier is: I do realize that in March we are planning to change our rent scale for housing and I’m hoping that we can implement that sooner, if possible. I know portfolios aren’t designated yet, but I’d like to make that a priority. Mahsi cho, Mr. Speaker.
I have no further questions.
Thank you, Mr. Speaker. At this time I would like to thank Mr. David Krutko, former MLA for the Mackenzie Delta, who has served 16 years as our MLA in the Mackenzie Delta.
I’d also like to take this time to reassure the constituents of the Mackenzie Delta that I am working on the important issues that we are faced with in our communities.
Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people of the Mackenzie Delta for their continuous support as the Member of the Legislative Assembly. I’d also like to thank my family for their continuous support.
Also, I’d like to congratulate yourself, Mr. Speaker, and also the Premier, Mr. McLeod, and our Cabinet Members and the other MLAs here. I look forward to working with you all in a positive relationship and the staff of the Legislative Assembly. Thank you very much, Mr. Speaker.
