Mr. Speaker, this project has not been finalized yet. So there is still time to negotiate a deal for this project to be built exclusively in the NWT. Can the Minister tell us if our government would welcome the economic opportunity of a mineral refinery such as that being built in Lamont County, Alberta, to instead be built in the NWT? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, does the Minister of ITI consider it a lost opportunity that Fortune Minerals decided not to build a refinery in the NWT for the minerals extracted from the NICO project? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, can the Minister tell us what type of economic or other conditions would need to be met in the future to enable a refinery of this nature to be constructed in the NWT? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, can the Minister tell us if our government had any discussions with Fortune Minerals about refining the minerals extracted from the NICO project inside the NWT rather than a different province? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, can the Minister tell us what her department's plan is to encourage more investments into the NWT to support future projects that will help create economic development for the NWT? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, can the Minister tell us what her vision is for an economic recovery for the NWT? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, we've had many briefings from the Minister on various topics. Can the Minister tell us if she's aware of a new group called the NWT Indigenous Leaders Economic Coalition? If so, does the Minister support this group and does she intend to work with them to help strengthen the NWT economy? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Mr. Speaker, given the closure of many mines in the NWT in the coming years, can the Minister tell us if she and her department have plans to open the NWT up for business. Specifically, are there plans to create more desirable economic conditions to attract and secure greater investment in the NWT? Thank you, Mr. Speaker.

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Mr. Speaker, to begin, I would like to welcome back my colleagues to the latest session of the new year. I would also like to give a special warm welcome to our newest colleague, the Member for Tu NedheWiilideh. I look forward to working along side our new colleague.

Mr. Speaker, for my statement topic today, I want to talk about the economy recovery for the NWT. We've begun to see more and more that our government is shifting away from a pandemic response and is beginning to treat COVID19 with an endemic response.
