I’d like to call Committee of the Whole back to order. The first item that we’re going to deal with today is Bill 1, Tlicho Statutes Amendment Act. I’d like to go to Minister Robert C. McLeod for opening comments. Minister McLeod.

Thank you, Minister Ramsay. Next I would like to go to the chair of the Standing Committee on Economic Development and Infrastructure, Mr. Hawkins.

Committee, the next bill we are going to be looking at is Bill 2, An Act to Amend the Territorial Parks Act. I would like to ask Mr. Ramsay if he has opening comments on the bill.

The CEO recommends that the standing committee propose a set of principles to be reflected in the campaign finance provisions of the Act and direct the CEO to return to the Assembly with detailed recommendations to amend Part 9 of the Act. The committee agrees with this recommendation, however, recommends that the CEO undertake further research on other jurisdictions’ approaches to campaign finance and provide the results of that research to the committee in order to assist the committee in developing a set of proposed principles.

In my Member’s statement I referred to student financial assistance for students with disabilities seeking post-secondary education and I kind of inadvertently referred to it as being outside of the territory because that seems like where there are specialized programs for students with disabilities.

I’d like to ask the Minister, in his role as being responsible for Aurora College, has the college ever had in place, or ever contemplated putting in place, specialized programming that would allow students with disabilities, who are Northerners, stay here to take post-secondary education in...

I’d like to ask the Minister if he is aware of how our student financial assistance for students with disabilities compares to what is offered as support to students with disabilities in other jurisdictions in Canada.
