When we do put out statistics as a government on this, I’m saying is it is a standard practice to also include in those statistics the kinds of indicators as I have listed in my previous question, or does that information, as Mr. Beaulieu listed the different types of cancer in the Northwest Territories and so on, come out as a package so that people get the picture or is this something that is just listed without, absent of those other indicators?

Thank you, Mr. Speaker. Today I’d like to talk about the cost of home heating oil, diesel for vehicles, and gasoline in the Northwest Territories. In the last government we had a fairly keen focus on the cost of living. When we talk about the cost of living, certainly heating our homes and our businesses, driving our vehicles, snow machines, quads, mobile equipment, fishing, going on the land, all of these things are very much affected by the cost of diesel or gasoline. I don’t think anyone could argue that these are very essential commodities everywhere, especially here in the North.

Thank you, colleagues, and thank you, Mr. Speaker. Yes, so there are two opportunities for the public to participate. One across on the reserve and then at the ski club. Also that event is open to the public.

Mr. Bouchard and I will depart early tomorrow morning to be there to receive Their Excellencies when they arrive in Hay River, so we won’t be able to join you in the House tomorrow, but we are very pleased, and honoured and excited to be having them visit our community starting tomorrow. Thank you, Mr. Speaker. I’ll just be very brief. I understand that Mr. Bromley feels very, very passionately about the environment and this is something that we have come to know is very dear to his heart. I do applaud his efforts and representations on behalf of the protection of the environment.

Crimes against humanity, as they are understood by the average person without these extensive explanations, are things that we see that occur in countries where they have civil war and all kinds of very direct attacks on human people.
