Bill 10: Forgiveness Of Debts Act, 2004-2005

Mr. Speaker, I wish to report to the Legislative Assembly that the Standing Committee on Accountability and Oversight has reviewed Bill 8, Miscellaneous Statutes Amendment Act; Bill 9, Write-off of Assets and Debts Act, 2004-2005; and, Bill 10, Forgiveness of Debts Act, 2004-2005, and wishes to report that bills 8 and 9 are ready for consideration in Committee of the Whole and Bill 10 is ready for consideration in Committee of the Whole as amended and reprinted. Now therefore I move, seconded by the honourable Member for Nunakput, that Deborah McLeod be appointed as deputy director of human rights for the Northwest Territories by the Commissioner of the Northwest Territories, as recommended by the Legislative Assembly;
And further, that the Speaker be authorized to communicate the effective date of appointment to the Commissioner.
