Integrity Commissioner Recommends Award of Costs Following Investigation

(YELLOWKNIFE) Monday, April 28, 2025  The Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly Integrity Commissioner, Mr. David Phillip Jones, K.C., has provided a supplemental report to Speaker Shane Thompson under section 102(9) of the Legislative Assembly and Executive Council Act.

Following an investigation into a recent complaint against Member Richard Edjericon, the Integrity Commissioner has recommended that the Legislative Assembly pay a portion of the complainant’s costs. Under section 102(9), the Integrity Commissioner has the authority to recommend the awarding of costs after an investigation.

The report will be formally tabled during the upcoming sitting of the Legislative Assembly.

The Assembly is required to accept or reject the Integrity Commissioner’s recommendation within 15 sitting days of the report being tabled.
