(YELLOWKNIFE) Tuesday, March 11, 2025 – The Legislative Assembly has recommended the reappointment of Sheldon Toner, Chair and Adjudicator and Jay Sengupta, Adjudicator to the Human Rights Adjudication Panel for another 4-year term.
The Board of Management is seeking applications for the appointment of one more adjudicator.
The Adjudication Panel is an independent tribunal with the authority to hear and decide cases in a fair and impartial manner. Cases may arise as the result of a complaint referred for hearing or an appeal of the dismissal of a complaint by the Director of the Human Rights Commission.
To be considered for appointment you must have experience and an interest in, and sensitivity to, human rights and:
- be a member, of at least five years good standing, of a law society of a province or territory; or
- have at least five years experience as a member of an administrative tribunal or a court.
