Members of the Legislative Assembly are elected to govern, represent their constituents in the legislature, and to listen to NWT residents.
The responsibilities of an MLA include creating opportunities for constituents to actively share their concerns, ask questions and discuss what is being done in the Assembly to represent their interests.
Many MLA’s also consult with their constituents by holding open constituency meetings located in a community within the Member’s constituency.
Constituents can freely contact their MLA to voice their opinions.
