Statements in Debates

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 19)

Thank you very much. That clarifies it.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 19)

Thank you, Mr. Chair. I noticed in the administration there’s a $2.061 million reduction. Could the Minister explain why there is a reduction compared to the main? Thank you, Mr. Chair.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 19)

I would like to seek unanimous consent to conclude my statement.

---Unanimous consent granted

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 19)

Thank you, Mr. Chair. The numbers that the Minister talked about just seem to be a little high compared to the numbers I see on this page, which are $24,403,000 and the Main Estimates were $23,083,000. The Minister just quoted a couple, about $4 million increases. Or 2.3, sorry. What I’m trying to figure out is where the discrepancy is. Thank you, Mr. Chair.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 17)

I thank Ms. Craig for the answer; that makes more sense now. I guess I should actually say where I get lines are. When I look at the environmental protection there's a $195,000 reduction. This is… I'm going with the revised estimates, so can you explain what the rationale of what this reduction is? Considering if I look at the actuals for 2014-15, it was $2.26 million.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 17)

Thank you, Mr. Chair, and I thank Ms. Kelly for the answer. In contaminated sites and remediation, it's a reduction of $218,000. Are the sites all cleaned up or… I'm just trying to understand the rationale for this reduction. Thank you, Mr. Chair.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 17)

Thank you very much. I thank the deputy minister and Minister for their answers and I'll be working and I'll be probably doing some Member’s statements on it anyways, so I thank you very much and I appreciate all your expertise because it is very valuable to the government. So you can't retire for another five years. Thank you, Mr. Chair.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 17)

Sorry. I heard Fort McMurray, and I was trying to figure it out, so I had to ask the question again, just to clarify. Thank you, very much.

Debates of , 18th Assembly, 2nd Session (day 17)

Thank you, Mr. Chair, and I thank Mr. Campbell for that answer. I hear there's a partnership. Has the department looked at working with the communities to help them fund so they can do it themselves with the technical support of the department? Thank you, Mr. Chair.
