Board of Management Media Statement August 26, 2021

YELLOWKNIFE (August 26, 2021) – The Northwest Territories Legislative Assembly Board of Management has issued the following statement:

The Board of Management met from August 23 to 25, 2021 to discuss two reports completed by Quintet Consulting.

In February 2021, Quintet Consulting was contracted to conduct a Workplace Review of the Office of the Clerk and to complete an investigation into allegations made against Clerk of the Legislative Assembly, Mr. Tim Mercer. The Review Report and Investigation Report have been completed as outlined in the Terms of Reference and the summary is attached.

“We would like to thank all participants for taking part in this review process. We understand that this has been a challenging process for everyone involved, and I appreciate everyone’s patience as Quintet completed their work. The Board has accepted the recommendations that have come out of the review report and staff in the Office of the Clerk has been directed to begin work on an action plan,” says Speaker Frederick Blake Jr., Chair of the Board of Management.

Information on the action plan will be shared with the public. Further information will be release following a confidentiality review.
