YELLOWKNIFE (Wednesday, February 23, 2022) – The Standing Committee on Accountability and Oversight will hold four theme days in the Legislative Assembly’s current February-March sitting.
The theme days will be as follows:
Theme days encourage Members to have their Statements and Oral Questions concentrated on predetermined topics.
“As Regular Members, we came together and chose these topics to spotlight them for both our colleagues in the House and our constituents,” said Mr. Kevin O’Reilly, Chair of the Standing Committee on Accountability and Oversight. “We believe these four aspects of life in the Northwest Territories have significant issues affecting many or all regions of the Territory and need to be recognized.”
The Standing Committee of Accountability and Oversight is comprised of the eleven regular Members of the Legislative Assembly. The Committee’s role is to review matters which have government-wide implications, coordinate committee strategic planning efforts, and coordinate Sessional business scheduling.
